Since early times, Christians have been called to heal and care for the Sick. In Jesus' ministry and relationships, in his dying and rising, the ministry to the sick finds its inspiration and its power. it is a mandate that has been entrusted to the Church at the very moment of her foundation. She is to become the hands of Christ that comfort the infirmed and the dying. that whenever the gospel is preached, there, too, must readily be felt Christ's  healing power. Thus, ministring to the sick is not only incidental but it is integral to the proclamation of the good news.
